Thus, we presumed that ALDH1A3 might play an important role in TMZ-chemoresistance in glioblastoma patients. As we expected, the glioblastoma cell lines and primary glioma Z-IETD-FMK synthesis were more sensitive to TMZ treatment when ALDH1A3 was inhibited or depleted. Consistently, it has been show

  2024-11-13

There are two ways to transport FFAs into cells. First by passive diffusion. Second as the putative long-chain fatty Beauvericin transporters are proposed, CD36 the plasma membrane-associated fatty acid-binding protein (FABPpm) and fatty acid transport proteins (FATP) [11], where CD36 is responsible

  2024-11-13

Adenosine is a ubiquitous homeostatic substance released from most cells, including neurons and glias. Endogenous adenosine acts at four principal G-protein-associated receptor subtypes: A1, A2a, A2b and A3 (Ralevic and Burnstock, 1998). The stimulation of adenosine receptors by extracellular adenos

  2024-11-13

Autotaxin has been linked to chemoresistance through its ability to inhibit apoptosis induced by paclitaxel in breast cancer Gap19 [15] and LPA can inhibit cell death induced by cisplatin [40]. Autotaxin was included in the present study because it was identified as being over-expressed in patients

• Inflammations lead to the perturbation of aromatase enzyme

  2024-11-13

Inflammations lead to the perturbation of aromatase enzyme [112], which normally is responsible for a broad array of critical functions. Chemotherapy targets this enzyme, so this treatment option is never side-effect-free and not fully-effective. Therefore, the mankind should be careful so as not to

The expanding catalog of glutamate receptor auxiliary subunits and associated transmembrane proteins underscores the importance and complexity of the receptor complexes. Whereas the interactions described here specifically control AMPARs, distinct auxiliary subunits, Neto-1/2, modulate neuronal kain

The dependence of blood cell production on a limited number of HSC and HPC (hereafter collectively referred to as HSPC) means that protection from potential toxins is essential for maintenance of the hematologic system (see Fig. 1). For example, the generation of blood cells within the intramedullar

Liaohe River situates in the southwestern part of Northeast China and flows through Liaoning Province. Due to the rapid urbanization and industrialization, Liaohe River has become one of the most polluted rivers in China. Multitudinous organic pollutants that can induce toxicity to organisms such as

As the close paralog of adiponectin, we hypothesized that CTRP9 could participate in regulation of reproduction. In order to evaluate whether Ctrp9 plays a role in the control of reproduction in tilapia, i.p. injection experiment was performed. HPG (Hypothalamic/pituitary/gonadal) axis plays a key r

We observed PACAP2 immunoreactivity in the molecular layer of the cerebellar cortex in zebrafish. This result is consistent with the reporting of PACAP immunoreactivity in the soma and fibers of Purkinje cells and the presence of PACAP mRNA in the Purkinje-cell and granular-cell layers in rats [43].
